Captain Speigel was born and raised in Wildwood graduating from Wildwood High School in 1992.  He began working part-time for the fire department in April, 1992 after completing Firefighter I and EMT training while still in high school.  He worked in this capacity until he was appointed to the position of Firefighter on May 8, 1995.  Captain Speigel worked on several platoons until he was promoted to Lieutenant on November 2, 2001.  He was then appointed Captain on May 1, 2003 and currently holds this position as shift commander of "B" platoon.

Captain Speigel holds several certifications including NJ State Fire Official, NJ State Fire Instructor Level II, NJ Division of Criminal Justice Arson Investigator, NJ State Police Haz-Mat Specialists and Certified Public Manager.  Captain Speigel is also a Rescue Specialists with New Jersey - Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team. 

Captain Speigel is the President of Wildwood FMBA # 50 and holds memberships in the National Fire Protection Association, International Association of Arson Investigators, NJ IAAI, International Association of Fire Chiefs and NJ State Fire Chief's Association.

Captain Speigel has received several commendations and citations for rescues and EMS duties.  

Captain Speigel continues to live in the city with his wife Tina and daughter Sydnee.
